Description
Natasha is a Contextual semi-detached dwelling located at 2327 Osborne CrescentS.W. Calgary. The lot is 627sqm , has an irregular, asymmetrical shape with disposition heading East to West. Both units are not identical, Unit A having an extension towards teh souther part of the lot is larger than Unit B. Each unit has a 10' double ' car attached garage. The fully developed basement featires an Entertaining room shared with a bar. The architectural concept of the units is such that organizes the living spaces on the main floor: front and back entrance and entrance halls, a living room, kitchen and a dining room, whereas on the second floor are the bedrooms together with bathrooms and utility rooms,and on the basement level a den is located, a bedroom and a mechanical room. Given the dimensions and form of the parcel, as well as the fact that each dwelling unit has three orientations, the rooms are organized in such a manner that allows maximum usage of the light within thdepth of the units. The project tends to use the width of the dwelling unit to the fullest in order to have bigger functional space on each floor. The exterior is designed as a composition of volumes treated differently in colors and materials, creating a clean and rhythmical visual language. The choice of colors and materials is done so that the new building does not intrude the context, but yet to introduce a new, fresh and sophisticated appearance in thestreetscape.
